Delegation Reservations 2011!
The SHARE Foundation is now accepting reservations for 2011 delegations! In order to accommodate as many groups as possible, we ask interested groups to let us know of their interest in sending a delegation and a preferred time-frame no later than September 15th to Bethany (bethany@share-elsalvador.org). Bethany will respond to you at this time with proposed dates for your delegation.
This life-changing experience is a unique opportunity to walk in solidarity with our Salvadoran brothers and sisters and expand our understanding of the realities of poverty and the struggle for justice and human rights. Itinerary possibilities include:
-
A visit to the sacred sites: Archbishop Oscar Romero's home and tomb, the Memorial Wall to the Civil War, the Romero Museum and Rose Garden dedicated to the memory of the Jesuit Martyrs at the University of Central America.
-
Meetings with various organizations that organize and lead the Salvadoran social movement around multiple issues, such as women's and youth rights, and environmental and human rights activism.
-
A three-day, two-night homestay in a rural, organized community. Meet with the directive council, play soccer with the youth committee, tour the community, accompany your host family in their daily activities, talk with them about the struggles and joys of daily life in the Salvadoran countryside.
We look forward to seeing you in El Salvador in 2011!
In solidarity,
The SHARE Grassroots team!

Delegations give you a chance to experience the reality of life in El Salvador. This is a once in a lifetime chance to come and visit El Salvador, “El Rincón Mágico” or the “Magical Corner” of Central America. It is an unforgettable and life-changing experience!
Tours give everyone in your US community the opportunity to interact with Salvadorans who are deeply involved in the daily struggle for justice and dignity in their country. Inviting Salvadorans from your partnering region to visit you on tour can greatly impact many people at home who may have never had the opportunity to meet them otherwise!

“If El
Salvador has taught me anything, it's how to
see with a new set of eyes, and how to know
what is really important. I arrived home with
a pile of souvenirs but also a new perspective
on America, on life, on people, and on faith.” ~Rebecca, Delegate
